OxyContin (oxycodone) is an opioid pain medication. An opioid is sometimes called a narcotic.
OxyContin is used to treat moderate to severe pain that is expected to last for an extended period of time. OxyContin is used for around-the-clock treatment of pain. It is not to be used on an "as-needed" basis for pain.
Oxy is a common prescription medication that can be acquired illegally. Street names include Oxy, Oxycotton and Hillbilly Heroin, among others.

Several instances of Oxy as cash:
- Skeezy tries to get Doc to pay for ammo using Oxy in "Puppies and Kittens" but Doc doesn't go for the trade.
- Doc does trade his last pills of Oxy with The Gatekeeper to gain access to the General in "Full Metal Zombie".
