The Bandit Road was a highway near Washington, D.C. that gave the Westward-bound survivor group no end of trouble.

As the heroes headed to California, they traversed a highway where they were robbed of their truck not once, but twice. Two different groups of bandits operated on the road, alternating robbing the heroes and killing each other or being killed by zombies.
The extent of trouble lead the heroes to seek another route, which lead them to McCandles' Tower.
